AIDS Response Seacoast Walk coming soon!

Our team in 2008
It's that time of year again!  Plan to join the walkers at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 1st.  It's a great way to get some good exercise, make new friends and help a worthy cause.

Right here in the Seacoast area, a significant number of people count on the client services that AIDS Response Seacoast provides without charge:  mental health counseling, nutritional counseling, access to support groups and referrals to medical specialists.
For those clients experiencing financial strain, they also offer assistance with housing and utility expenses and access to the ARS food pantry. Perhaps most important, experienced case managers help clients manage and balance the competing stresses in their lives such as navigating the rough waters of Social Security and Medicare or developing household budgets to protect their housing and therefore, the stability of their families.

Funding these important services is becoming increasingly difficult in the current economic climate.  Threatened decreases in funding from both federal and state grants could put these services in jeopardy.  The New Hampshire AIDS Service Organization client support funding may also be eliminated by the New Hampshire Legislature in the this year and beyond. At the same time, demands for services are increasing. Our brothers and sisters living with HIV/AIDS need our financial support now more than ever.

Register at 1 Junkins Ave in Portsmouth beginning at about 12:30 that same day.  You can join the St. George's award-winning team and make your donation at a secure web site. Head to our team's home page and join our team!

You can also pick up envelopes at church to gather cash and check donations from your friends and colleagues.

I look forward to walking with you on the 1st.  Together, let's make a difference!
