The visit to the Post Office yielded more donations today

Total money raised for the NOLA trip from chili, checks and other donations currently stands at $11,313.50!  This is really exciting to me, folks!  I have a list of 30 donors from outside our parish and where they are from.  They come from California, Alaska, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Florida, and New England (VT, NH, MA and ME).  Amounts given range from $20 to $1000.  All of those letters and emails we sent to our friends and family members were worth the effort!

Our own St. George's parishioners (and this doesn't count chili-eaters and  is in addition to the Vestry and Christmas offering) have given nearly $1000 of the total.

Just a little more than 2 weeks to go before you all take off!  YAYY!!

Sudie and the good people of St. G's: I will you all well in your pilgrimage mission for Katrina Relief. Last year I spend spring break in NOLA working with 20 students doing United Methodist Council on Relief (UMCOR) projects. There were about 10,000 students in NOLA at that time and the activity was incredible. Take time to look and listen to the stories of the locals you meet and thank God for your blessings! You will be transformed! I pray for safe travel and the ability to be receptive for the great gift you will soon receive.
